After the latest update from Apple, I was prompted to set a passcode, which I did. Now, I'm unable to remove it, as the option is grayed out. I haven't set up Apple Pay or any similar services, so how can I remove the passcode?

If you're using Apple Pay or a similar payment method, that’s likely why the option to remove your passcode is grayed out. Apple's update makes it mandatory for security reasons, especially to protect against stolen devices.

I get your frustration! But just to clarify, if it’s the passcode for unlocking the entire device, it’s typically important for security. Why were you looking to remove it in the first place?

Well, it’s just a tablet I use for watching videos, so I thought it would be easier without a passcode!
