I recently handed down my old PC setup (i7-11700k, 2080 ti, 32GB 3200MHz) to my girlfriend's younger brother. He mostly plays Minecraft, Valorant, and Roblox. I'm curious how long this setup will last until he needs a more powerful rig when he starts high school in about five years. Should I plan on upgrading it in the meantime, or is it sufficient for now? I imagine his gaming interests will expand as he gets older. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That PC is totally overkill for a kid just getting into gaming. I was stuck on much older hardware for years, so he'll be in great shape!
You’re set for a while! He'll be fine with that setup for quite some time; it's more than enough for what he’s playing.
You really shouldn't need to upgrade. That rig is pretty decent for casual games, and it's good for him to experience playing with limitations. I learned a ton from having less powerful setups when I was younger, and I think he will too. He should be good for at least 5 years, if not more.
Honestly, that computer can handle any of the games he's playing right now, and you won't need to upgrade unless something actually breaks. It's solid!
LOL! A 9-year-old doesn’t need anything more than that! It's quite the setup for him, very strange question, but he'll be more than okay!
