I'm playing on a modded Minecraft server with friends and I've got 157 mods, including Create via Forge. I'm also using Complimentary Shaders on ultra settings, along with a PBR texture pack at 1440p. My setup features an RTX 5080 paired with an R7-9800X3D and 12GB of RAM assigned to the game. Despite my powerful hardware, the game doesn't seem to perform smoothly at all. I've checked HWiNFO and my CPU and GPU aren't under any significant load. I'm curious if there's anything else I can check or adjust to improve performance?

You might also want to check if any specific mods are causing issues. With 157 mods and shaders, it's tough to pinpoint the exact problem. Do you lag when other players are around or only when you're in heavy create zones?
What kind of FPS are you actually getting? Sometimes it might feel laggy, but it could just be a frame rate issue. Minecraft being a Java game doesn't always utilize hardware effectively, so it could be running fine under the hood but not performing as expected on the surface.
Exactly, Minecraft isn't known for being the most optimized game out there, so low FPS can happen even with high-end hardware.
It sounds like the performance issues might stem from the mods rather than your hardware. Why not test out a different game for a comparison? If everything runs smoothly elsewhere, then Minecraft and one of the mods could be the culprit.
Good point! Mod-heavy games can really throw a wrench in performance, especially with that many running at once.
Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. I'll try playing something else and see how it goes.

Yeah, that could be tricky. Testing some mods one at a time could help isolate the problem.
