Hey everyone, I'm not a tech expert, but I have some basic understanding. I bought an HP Omen 30L a few years back, which has been great for gaming and web browsing. It originally had a C: drive and a D: drive, and I thought the operating system was on D:. A month or two ago, I did a fresh installation of Windows, and now I can't see the D: drive anymore in file explorer. I checked the disk management tool, and it only shows the C: drive and a couple of partitions, but the D: drive is missing. I scanned for drives but didn't find anything. Any idea what happened to my D: drive? Thanks for your help!

It sounds like your D: drive was probably a partition created by the manufacturer. When you did the fresh install, you likely wiped those partitions, leaving you with just the C: drive. The two partitions you see are probably system-related. If you want to add another drive, you’ll likely need to do a fresh install using a USB stick. Just keep that in mind!

So basically, D: was just part of the C: drive? That's good to know! If no one else chimes in with a different theory, I might just mark this as solved. Thanks a lot!
