Looking for a Minimalistic GUI File Manager with a 3-Column View

I'm on the hunt for a GUI file manager that mirrors the 3-column layout found in ranger or Yazi, preferably without a bulky side panel. I recently switched to Linux and I'm using EndeavourOS with Hyprland. While Dolphin feels too bloated for my taste, Yazi has had a simple and efficient navigation system that I've enjoyed. However, I've hit a wall trying to get Yazi's plugins for mounting drives and drag-and-drop functionality to work. I've considered Pantheon Files, but it seems tricky to get running on my setup. With my lack of coding experience and the hassle of finding a middle ground, I'm hoping to find a solution without needing to dive deep into coding.

It sounds like you’re looking for something really specific! The layout you’re after is often referred to as 'miller columns'. While there are TUI options like fm and superfile in the GitHub links, I know that’s not what you want. Have you tried checking out other minimalistic GUI options like Thunar or PCManFM? They’re pretty lightweight and can provide a smoother experience than Dolphin without all the excess features you don’t need.

Yeah, Thunar is a good call! It has a nice, clean interface and you can customize it a bit. Just make sure to install the necessary plugins for mounting and drag-and-drop, and you should be good to go!

If you really want to stick with Yazi, here’s the link to the mount plugin you’ll need: github.com/yazi-rs/plugins/tree/main/mount.yazi. It’s unfortunate that you’re having trouble getting it set up! Maybe there’s a community forum where someone can guide you through it.

I appreciate the link! I tried following the setup steps, but I think I might just be missing something crucial. I'll dig into it again.
