I'm thinking about using my old 128GB SATA SSD for Linux Mint after switching from Windows. I understand that the root partition is similar to the Windows C drive, where all the important system files are stored, and the home directory is where I keep my personal files. I also plan to get a 1TB SSD to use alongside my old 1TB HDD for storing my games, audiobooks, movies, and manga. Will the 128GB SSD be sufficient for the operating system and applications? Also, will the default installation settings use the entire drive, or do I need to do something manually?

Most distros require less space than Windows, so you should be just fine with the 128GB SSD for your Linux installation. Go for it!
Yes, it's definitely enough. You'll even have room left for additional programs after the installation.
Absolutely! Most Linux distributions recommend just 10-20GB for installation, so you should have plenty of space left over for applications and updates.
Yes, that's enough space! If it’s your only drive, everything, including your home directory, will be under the root directory. You can later move your home partition to a bigger drive if needed.
That 128GB is more than enough. I've installed Linux Mint on smaller HDDs without any issues. Just keep in mind that you'll want to manage your space, but overall, you're good!
Usually, the default settings will utilize most of the drive, but it's worth checking the installation options to be sure.

Would the default installation settings use the entire drive, or do I have to adjust that manually?
