Is It Too Late to Start Learning Web Development at 31?

I've recently discovered how websites are built, and it surprised me to learn that they're not created in Photoshop like I once thought! Now at 31 and currently unemployed, I feel this could be the right time to dive into programming and pursue a career in web development, as I want to focus on making websites rather than apps or games. However, I've come across courses that cost thousands, which I can't afford. I've also read conflicting information about job security in programming due to AI advancements. Can anyone share their thoughts on whether it's too late for me to start learning web development and if there are more affordable learning options?

The job market is definitely challenging, so just prepare yourself for some hard work. It's crucial to build real-life projects—those will make you appealing to employers. Aim for at least 1.5 years of learning, but keep your expectations in check. You might need to take on some unrelated job during your learning phase to support yourself. As for AI, it’s not replacing developers yet—just learn how to use it as a tool, not a crutch.
