I'm trying to upgrade my PC because it's running slowly and not able to update to Windows 11. Here's what I currently have:
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1060 3GB
- CPU: Intel Core i5 9400F 2.9GHz
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3000 MHz
I'm looking to upgrade to these components:
- CPU: Intel i7 3.8GHz (10th Gen)
- GPU: Nvidia RTX 2060 6GB
- RAM: Corsair 2x8GB DDR4
Will these parts work with an Asus Prime Z390-P motherboard, which supports Intel 8th and 9th Gen processors?

The slowness in your PC might be due to using an old mechanical hard drive (HDD). If that's the case, swapping to a Solid State Drive (SSD) could be a game changer. If you’ve got an SSD but it’s nearly full, that might slow things down too. Just clarifying, what kind of storage are you using? Is Windows installed on the SSD?
Unfortunately, you won't be able to use that 10th gen CPU with your Asus Prime Z390-P motherboard since it's only compatible with 8th and 9th gen CPUs. You might want to consider a 9th gen CPU instead to ensure compatibility with your current setup. That should also allow you to run the newer components you’re looking into.
Got it! So for the RTX and Corsair RAM, they should work fine with a compatible 9th gen CPU. Just make sure your power supply can handle the new GPU!

Yeah, mainly I’m trying to run games and they are installed on my local HDD, so that's probably why it's lagging. I need to get them on the SSD to improve load times!
