Hey there! I'm considering upgrading my PC and could really use some advice. Here's my current setup: CPU - 3600X, GPU - 2060 Super, 16GB DDR4 RAM, Aorus B450 Elite motherboard, and a Cooler Master K550 550W power supply. I'm planning to upgrade my CPU to the 5700X and looking at GPUs like the 5060 Ti or the 9060 XT, both with 16GB. Since I've never used AMD before, I'm curious about how well it performs. I typically prefer NVIDIA, but the price difference is quite significant—430 euros for the AMD and around 600 euros for NVIDIA. Also, do you think my power supply can handle these upgrades? Thanks a lot!

Great choices! Just keep in mind that the two GPUs you mentioned work differently with PCIe bus. The NVIDIA 5060 Ti uses 8X while the AMD 9060 XT uses 16X, which might make the AMD a better choice for older motherboards like yours. Also, check if your motherboard supports Smart Access Memory (SAM), which could enhance performance if you enable it via a BIOS update. As for your power supply, a good quality 550W should be sufficient, but if it's on the lower end, I would recommend running your setup through PCPartPicker to see the total wattage. Add an extra 150W to that as a safety buffer!
Sounds like it might be okay, but it'd be good to confirm its specs too. What brand is it?
I totally relate to your situation! I upgraded from a 3700X with a 2070 Super to a 5800 XT and a 5060 Ti recently. I stuck with the AM4 chipset since DDR5 is costly right now. Prices for the 5060 Ti are rising fast, so I suggest you grab it while you can—prices have nearly doubled in recent weeks! With my current setup, my 600W PSU works great, so you might be alright as long as your PSU is decent.
Thanks for sharing that! I've noticed the price spikes too. Are you happy with your new GPU?
Yeah, I need to act quickly or risk higher prices!
Definitely go for the 9060 XT! It's cheaper and offers solid performance. For the CPU, I recommend aiming for the 5600X as a budget option, but anything up to around $200 is also a great choice. You’ll want something that will last a while, and both AMD options should serve you well for years to come!

That's helpful! Do you know a good reference for PSU recommendations?
