Is 8GB VRAM Sufficient for Gaming at 1080p?

I'm planning to build a gaming PC with a budget of around €1200. The best prebuilt option I found is priced at €1120 and includes an Intel Ryzen 5 8400F processor, a Radeon RX 9060 XT with 8GB VRAM, and 16GB DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz. I primarily play Minecraft with shaders and mods, along with a few other games. Since I want to stick to the AM5 platform for potential CPU upgrades later, I'm curious: will the 8GB VRAM be a bottleneck for 1080p gaming, or is it sufficient for my needs? Just to clarify, it's an R5, not an i5.

Honestly, for your setup, 8GB VRAM is plenty. Most of the games you’d be playing at 1080p shouldn’t give you any issues unless you're cranking everything to ultra. My RX 6600 with 8GB runs everything fine at that resolution!

That's reassuring to hear! Thanks!

In most games, 8GB VRAM should be enough for 1080p gaming, but there are some exceptions where you might face challenges, especially at higher settings. If that happens, just dial down a few graphic settings and you should be set!
