Why is my PC lagging during games and editing?

Hey everyone! I've noticed that my PC has been struggling a lot lately with my regular tasks, like gaming and editing. It used to handle everything smoothly, but now it's lagging, slowing down, and sometimes even crashing. The only older components are my power supply from 2022 and a 1TB SSD where Windows and my games are installed. Right now, even typing this feels delayed. Here's a breakdown of my setup:

**PC Parts and Purchase Dates:**
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (09.2024)
- Asrock B650 LIVEMIXER B650 (09.2024)
- ASUS GeForce RTX 5070 (05.2025)
- Kingston DDR5 Fury Beast 2x32GB (09.2024)
- Corsair TX750M PSU (05.2022)
- 1TB Team Cardea Zero Z440 NVMe SSD (09.2024)
- 4TB WD Blue SN5000 NVMe SSD (01.2025)
- 1TB Western Digital WD Blue SN570 NVMe SSD (11.2022) - This one runs Windows 11 and my games.

Also, I use two monitors: one 1440p and one 1080p. Any thoughts on what could be causing these issues?

It sounds like your PC might be overheating. Monitor the temperatures with HWinfo or a similar tool; overheating can lead to throttling and performance issues. Don't forget to check the SMART data on your SSD too—sometimes they slow down without warning. That said, high RAM usage during lagging moments could be a culprit as well. Keep an eye on that!

I ran HWinfo during peak usage and found my CPU peaks at 78 °C but averages around 62 °C, plus RAM is running between 40-50 °C. My SSDs are all showing good health. The only thing I'm worried about is the virtual memory load sitting at 97%—could that be causing the slowdown?

One thing to consider is running some stress tests. You mentioned doing a Furmark test; did you check if the PSU is making more noise during lagging times? If it is, it might be struggling under load. Might be worth considering a power supply upgrade if that’s the case. Also, check if background processes are hogging resources when your system lags.
