Should I Upgrade My Current PC or Build a New DDR4 System?

I'm facing a dilemma with my current PC setup since it's starting to slow down. The prices for RAM are quite high right now, which makes upgrading seem less appealing. I've researched my options and narrowed it down to either upgrading my current machine slightly and waiting it out, or building a new DDR4 system. Here's what I currently have:

- Processor: i3 10100f
- Graphics Card: RTX 2060
- Motherboard: Gigabyte b460m ds3h V2 (supports 11th gen)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- PSU: 500W Bronze

Considering my situation, my options are:
- Buy an i5 11400f and a new GPU (possibly an RTX 5060TI).
- Get a B550/AM4 motherboard with DDR4 support, a new power supply, and either an i5 12600kf or a Ryzen 7 5700x along with a new GPU.

What do you all think I should do?

If you're leaning towards future proofing your system, the AMD options provide better performance for gaming and multitasking, especially if you can wait a bit for prices to stabilize. Remember to factor in everything, including the cost of the components and how much you'll actually gain performance-wise.

You should definitely consider the total cost of the upgrades. Look at the price difference between a 5700x with a motherboard and PSU versus the i5 11400f. I found that a 5700x setup will run about 360 euros, while the i5 is cheaper at around 85 euros for the CPU alone. Evaluate if the performance increase is worth the investment for you!
