Why can’t I order files by last modified date in Windows 11?

I'm having a real problem with Windows 11. I can't seem to sort files by the last modified date in Windows Explorer, and it's really frustrating. I've tried clicking on the 'Date modified' column header like I normally would, but it doesn't seem to work. Is anyone else experiencing this?

That does sound strange! Make sure you're checking the view options. You can find sorting settings in the view tab. There might be a way to reset or refresh those settings. Have you tried that yet?

Also, don't forget about that crucial backup of your data! If you're messing around with settings, a backup is always a good idea, just in case.

Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind.

It sounds like you've got a weird glitch going on. Normally, clicking on the 'Date modified' column should sort your files. Just to clarify, are you getting any visual feedback when you click it, like an arrow showing the sort order? If it’s acting like nothing happened, maybe a restart or checking for updates could help!
