How to Fix Keyboard Shortcuts for Language Packs in Windows 11?

I'm trying to help my parents manage their keyboard shortcuts for a language pack on Windows 11. They've installed the Lithuanian language pack, but we're struggling to get it to work for typing specific characters. In Windows 10, they could use SHIFT+1 to type certain letters, but that doesn't seem to work now. I've confirmed that the language pack is selected in the taskbar. Using Team Viewer, I've opened the on-screen keyboard and verified I can switch languages with WIN + SPACEBAR, but I want them to be able to type these characters directly rather than relying on the on-screen keyboard. Any tips on getting the keyboard shortcuts to work?

Yeah, definitely verify the exact layout in settings. Normally, for Lithuanian, you should be able to access diacritics with simple key combinations. If it still doesn't work, another solution is to check if the regional settings are correctly configured; sometimes Windows won’t apply the language properly if these aren’t aligned.

First off, it's crucial to make sure the keyboard layout is set correctly for Lithuanian. Go to 'Settings' > 'Time & Language' > 'Language' and ensure the Lithuanian layout is active. You can check which keys correspond to the special characters by pressing ALT and the number keys on the numeric keyboard. If they're interfacing primarily through Word, they should check if a different setting in Word is affecting this, since sometimes the application can override system shortcuts. Lastly, reinstalling the language pack could also help, just to reset things.
