I'm looking to complete my AM4 build and need some help! I primarily game (mostly Dota 2) and produce music using Ableton Live. I plan to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 5800XT since it's currently the best option for AM4. However, I'm also in the market for a new GPU and PSU. My goal is to find top-tier components that can boost my performance now and still be compatible with an AM5/AM6 setup in the future.
Here's my current setup:
- **CPU:** Ryzen 5 3600XT (cooled with ROG Strix LC 360 AIO)
- **Motherboard:** Asus ROG STRIX B550-E GAMING
- **RAM:** 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3200
- **GPU:** Asus DUAL EVO RTX 2070 8GB (which struggles with my LG 4K 240Hz OLED)
- **PSU:** SeaSonic M12II 650W Bronze
- **Monitors:** 32" LG UltraGear 4K 240Hz OLED (Main), 22" Planar Touchscreen (Secondary)
The issue is that my RTX 2070 can't keep up with 4K gaming, and I suspect my 650W PSU won't support a higher-end card. I'd like to spend no more than $1500 for the CPU, GPU, and PSU, with around $1150 allocated for the GPU. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you're open to considering Intel, you might want to check out the i5-14600KF. It performs great for gaming and music production. With that, you could pair it with an RTX 5070 Ti and an 850W PSU to future-proof your setup. Just keep an eye on availability because prices fluctuate a lot right now!
Definitely, the Ryzen 7 5800XT is a solid choice for your build! For the GPU, I’d recommend looking at the RTX 4070 or the Radeon RX 6800 XT. If you can find a deal, the 5070 Ti is a great option too. Just keep in mind you'll likely need a more powerful PSU, so aim for at least 750W to be safe!
Thanks for the recommendations! Do you think the 4070 is worth the price over the 6800 XT?

I see what you're saying, but would switching to Intel mean I'd have to replace my motherboard? I was hoping to keep as much of my setup as I could.
