Hey everyone! I was hanging out with friends on a video chat app while using a VPN, and things started to glitch out. My webcam went blank a few times, and eventually, my PC completely froze up. After a force restart, I had some network issues, which I managed to fix by uninstalling the VPN after a lot of trial and error. Now, the network's back to normal, but my webcam isn't working at all. The light blinks briefly, and sometimes when I keep the camera app open, it blinks again but doesn't show any feed. It feels like it's stuck in some kind of loop. I also tried accessing it via Discord, but it says it can't reach the camera. I'm on Windows 11. Any ideas on how to get my webcam working again?

When your laptop froze, did you notice anything specific about what was happening? Also, which VPN were you using? Knowing the details might help us find the root cause.
Make sure to check if your camera settings are adjusted correctly in the privacy sections of Windows 11. Sometimes, after a VPN or any system change, those settings can get messed up.
Is your webcam built into your laptop or is it a separate peripheral? That could help narrow down the issue.
