I recently got a great deal on a PNY 5080 OC GPU for 999€. With this purchase, I'm considering upgrading my ASUS ROG Strix B550-F motherboard to one that supports PCIe 5. I'm also eyeing an AMD AM5 chip, possibly a 7700x. However, I can't afford DDR5 RAM right now. Do you think my current Corsair DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 1.35V, which is optimized for AMD Ryzen, will hold back my performance? I mainly play at 4K 60FPS.

You won't be able to use your DDR4 RAM with an AM5 CPU or motherboard since they only support DDR5. You could consider switching to an Intel setup with a PCIe 5.0 motherboard that supports DDR4, but the performance boost might not be significant. Sticking with your current AM4 setup could be the way to go. What's your CPU right now?

Oh wow, I had no idea I couldn't use DDR4 RAM on an AM5 board—thanks for clarifying! My current CPU is a 5600x.
