I'm putting together a budget PC for my girlfriend and I want to make sure we're making a solid choice. How well will an RTX 2070 Super paired with an i7-9700 perform in Overwatch 2 at 1080p on high settings? I'm aiming for a smooth 144Hz experience if possible. Also, if this setup feels a bit outdated, what budget-friendly alternatives should I consider? Additionally, will this setup handle Minecraft with shaders well enough? I think anything above 80 FPS would work fine for her. Thanks!

Don't worry, Overwatch can run on very modest hardware. You're definitely in the clear. Just keep in mind that although the 2070 Super is getting a bit older, it’s still quite capable at 1080p, especially with the right settings!
You're in a good spot! For Overwatch 2, that combo should easily get you around 120 FPS at 1080p, and you might even see over 200 FPS in some instances. It's not a heavy game, so that setup will handle Minecraft with shaders just fine too. Honestly, you shouldn't have any issues with esports titles either!
It'll run great! With a little tweaking on the graphics settings, you'll be good to go for 1080p at that high refresh rate. I've run Overwatch at 1440p smoothly with a similar setup, so 1080p should be a piece of cake.

Yeah, I’ve been using a 2070 Super for a while now, and it still performs really well! I think it should handle both Overwatch and Minecraft with shaders without any major hiccups.
