Hey folks! I'm looking for some advice on how to optimize my current PC setup. I want to stick with my AM4 build for now and maximize its performance, especially for gaming, without overspending. My budget is around $500 right now. Here's what I'm working with:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
- GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3060 OC 12GB VRAM
- RAM: 64GB DDR4 3200MHz
- PSU: Corsair RM850x
- Storage: Samsung 990 Pro 2TB
- Cooling: Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240mm AIO
I primarily focus on gaming, and I'm aiming for decent performance at 1440p, but it's looking a bit tight price-wise. Any suggestions on potential upgrades or if I should keep things as they are?

You can maximize your setup by upgrading to a better GPU first, like the RX 6700 XT or the RTX 5070 if you can swing it. Your 5600x should hold up well with those cards. Just make sure to check for compatibility with your PSU!
Your GPU is definitely a key area to upgrade! The RTX 3060 is solid, but you might want to look at the RX 6800 XT or even the RX 6700 XT if you can find one at a good price. Those would give you a nice boost in 1440p gaming performance.
Before you dive into upgrades, what games do you play? If you're focused on gaming, especially at 1440p, the graphics card will be your best bet. Maybe consider selling some of that RAM since 32GB is generally plenty for gaming. You could use some of that cash toward a better GPU.
Definitely focus on upgrading the GPU. An RX 6800 or a 6700 XT would really help push your gaming to 1440p levels. Also, do keep an eye out for sales or combos that could help you get a better card within your budget!

That makes sense! I usually play a mix of FPS and RPGs, so I think I'll prioritize the GPU upgrade.
