I've been using my ASUS TUF Gaming A15 for about 5 years now, and recently I've noticed a bunch of stuck pixels on the display, including some white, red, and blue spots. Initially, I had a single white speck, and I tried using one of those websites with static patterns to fix it, but it didn't work. Now, with more spots showing up over time, I'm getting a bit worried. It doesn't affect my gaming experience, but since I use this laptop for university too, I'd really like to know if there's a way to resolve this issue or at least slow down the spread of these pixels. Any suggestions?

No need to panic, it's definitely not a virus. What's happening is probably hardware failure due to the age of the laptop and possibly the heat it generates while gaming. Those 'freckles' are likely stuck subpixels, which are common in older screens. The quick-fix websites usually don't provide a long enough cycling process to actually fix these issues, so I'd recommend trying out a playlist of deeper fix videos that can really work out those stuck pixels. You might find better luck with a more intense approach!
Unfortunately, once you start seeing those dead pixels, there's really no fix other than replacing the display itself. They don't come back to life easily, and it seems to be more common in displays that have seen a lot of use. You might try gently massaging the area around the pixels, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work. Just keep an eye on it and treat your laptop carefully to minimize further damage.

Thanks, that's very helpful! I'll look for that playlist and give it a shot.
