Is it normal for my GPU to not align perfectly with the case screw holes?

I recently built my first PC and noticed that when I installed my GPU, it didn't quite align with the screw holes in the case. It was off by a few millimeters, and I had to lift the card slightly to get the screws in. Now that the build is complete, I'm a bit worried if I put too much pressure on the PCIe slot or the GPU itself. Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm using a Corsair 5000D case.

It's actually pretty common for GPUs to sag a little. The weight of the card can make it pull down away from the screw holes, so using screws is definitely the right move here. You're good!

Yeah, if you were just a few millimeters off, that's pretty normal. Most of the time, the GPU's center of mass isn't perfectly over the PCIe slot, and lifting it to screw it in relieves stress on the slot. You don’t need to worry about it! That's how it’s designed to work.

Sounds like I’m dealing with the same issue! Just a slight lift and it’s all good.
