I'm putting together my first gaming PC and would love some guidance. I've done quite a bit of research, but I'm still feeling a bit lost. I want to make sure all my parts are compatible and not overspending where I don't have to. Here's my build list: [link]. I'm primarily interested in gaming, but nothing overly demanding. I'll be using Linux since I've heard bad things about Windows lately. My budget is around $1500, though I initially aimed for $1000, which isn't strictly limited but is more of a hope. I probably won't easily replace any high-cost parts if something were to break, so it's important to get it right the first time. Also, I'm wary about using Nvidia components due to mixed reviews on Linux compatibility. Any advice on parts or direction would be greatly appreciated!

You definitely want to switch from an HDD to an SSD for your main drive! SSDs are just way faster, and most modern games require them. You won't want to miss out on that performance. Even if it seems like SSDs are pricier, you really should make the jump. It'll make a huge difference in how your system runs.

I get the hesitation with costs, but trust me, sticking with an HDD is a mistake at this point. SSDs have become the standard for a reason. Just look around for some deals—there are plenty of good options!
