I'm trying to figure out how to prevent my Windows PC from being powered on during the hours of 12 AM to 8 AM. My goal is to keep a family member from playing computer games during those hours without interfering with their Microsoft account. Is there a reliable method to enforce this?

Even if you change the power button action in Power Options to "Do nothing," that won't stop the PC from turning on from a full shutdown when the button is pressed. However, you might want to try the Microsoft Family Safety feature. It allows you to set specific time limits for user accounts, which would prevent the account from logging in during your specified hours. Another option is to get a smart plug that can cut power during those hours; they’re not too expensive and can be controlled through an app on your phone.
Totally agree on the Family Safety feature! I'm using it for my daughter's laptop, and it works like a charm. Plus, it really helps her to avoid screens at night!
