I have a 12-year-old laptop with the following specs: 8GB RAM (but it shows only 3.45GB usable), a 512GB HDD, an integrated AMD Radeon R5 graphics card, and an AMD A8-7410 processor at 2.20 GHz. It runs a 64-bit system type. I'm looking for a decent operating system that can provide a smooth experience with minimal lag. Any recommendations?

I've been using Lubuntu on an older laptop, and it runs really smoothly—definitely worth trying out!

For a mix of ease and functionality, I recommend MX Linux. I've got it on a few old computers from 2010 to 2012, and it just works. If you want to test the waters before fully installing it, you can try running AntiX from a USB drive. That way you can see how it performs!

Thanks, I’ll give MX Linux a try!
