I'm trying to figure out if my AM4 motherboard along with DDR4 RAM and PCIe4 will be enough for playing Elden Ring at 1440p with 60fps on medium settings. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I do enjoy sharp visuals. Would it be wise to stick with AM4, or should I consider upgrading to an AM5 motherboard and CPU? Also, if you have any specific recommendations for CPUs or GPUs, that would be great!

I've been playing on an AM4 setup at 1440p and hitting over 80 fps in games with a 3070 GPU, so you'll likely be just fine for Elden Ring. It's not that demanding once you have a decent GPU.
