Why is my NVMe SSD only transferring at 38 MB/sec with USB 3.2 Gen 2?

I'm using an ASUS Prime H610M-A D4 motherboard, which has USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports that are color-coded blue/teal. I've made sure to use the right ports. My setup includes a Crucial P3 Plus M.2 NVMe SSD in an enclosure that supports USB 3.2 Gen 2. I connect it with a USB-C to USB-A cable that came with the enclosure. Despite this, my data transfer speeds are only around 38 MB/sec, which is way below what's expected for USB 3.2 Gen 2. I've installed the necessary motherboard chipset drivers and restarted my system, but the slow speeds persist. Any thoughts on what's causing this?

It sounds like you might be experiencing a connection issue. Are you transferring large files between SSDs? Getting close to 40 MB/sec often suggests that your connection might not be running at USB 3.x speeds but is dropping down to USB 2. This might be because of a faulty cable or bottleneck in your enclosure. Sometimes, using different cables can help, especially if the USB-C to USB-A cable is not great. Have you tried connecting the enclosure to another device?

Yeah, I connected it to my laptop using the USB-C to USB-C cable, and the speeds were much better. So, it could be the USB-A port on my desktop or the cable that's causing the slow transfer.
