I feel a bit silly asking this, but I just got a prebuilt PC and I can't seem to locate the hard drive. The other side of the case opens up but it just looks like a mass of wires. I'm looking to install a new SSD I bought, but the current drive is a mystery to me. Here's a link to some pictures for reference: https://ibb.co/album/gLqYdJ

Fire up a leaf blower and blow that dust away! Just remember to tape down the fans so they don’t spin while you’re doing it. 😄

Usually, if there’s a traditional HDD, it’s mounted on the HDD caddy at the back. If it’s an NVMe M.2 drive, you might find it tucked under the GPU, possibly beneath an M.2 heat sink. Checking out the motherboard manual might help you pinpoint its location.

Are you expecting a specific type of hard drive? The pictures could be clearer, but I think I see an M.2 SSD cover beneath the GPU. Did you check under there? Also, just a heads up, your RAM seems off for an X299 setup.
