Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading from my current 6700 XT to a 9070 XT, but I have an i5-10600K processor. I know I might hit some performance limits with the CPU, but I'm really looking to improve my gaming experience, especially as some games are struggling to hit 60fps at 1440p even with low settings. I mainly want to play titles like Expedition 33 and Wukong, which haven't been the most optimized lately. Is this upgrade going to be worthwhile given my setup? Thanks for any insights!

It sounds like upgrading to the 9070 XT would still be a significant jump, but you might experience some bottleneck with the i5-10600K. It’s definitely worth considering a CPU upgrade first to get the most out of the new GPU. Your current setup could handle some games okay, but newer titles might still struggle depending on the demand.
I used to have an i5-10600K with a 3070, and trust me, upgrading your CPU can help. I experienced stuttering issues in certain games until I upgraded to a more powerful CPU, and it resolved those problems completely.
Nice to hear! What CPU did you go with that made the difference?
Make sure to check how your CPU and GPU are performing in those specific games. The 6700 XT should pull off about 60 fps at low settings, but if you find the CPU isn’t being fully utilized, it may not be the best path to upgrade without addressing that first.
I’ve noticed the CPU really underutilized in those games too. Sounds like sticking with the 6700 XT for now might be smart until I can upgrade the CPU.
Got it! Any CPU recommendations that won’t break the bank?
