I'm currently using a 5700X3D and I'm thinking about upgrading my GPU from a 3070 to something like a 5070. I'm wondering if I should switch to a whole new PC with AM5 or if it's better to stick with my AM4 setup for now.

Staying with AM4 and just upgrading to the 5070 seems like a practical choice. You'll get decent performance without having to spend a fortune on DDR5 and a new motherboard.
The 5700X3D paired with a 5070 should work just fine, honestly. That combo could provide a great experience.
I would recommend holding off on the upgrade. The 5700X3D is a solid CPU and with current memory prices being high, there's little incentive to switch to AM5 right now. You could save your money and wait for better pricing or new releases.
Yeah, plus if you can find those components at a good price, it makes sense to stick with what you have for now.
