I'm trying to set up default printer settings to sync with Printix/cloud printing on my Mac, but I'm having a hard time. When I change the settings in the CUPS web interface, it doesn't seem to apply correctly. I've set some default trays for the printer queues, but it keeps defaulting to tray 1 every time. I'm specifically working with Triumph Adler printers, and even though the tray settings show up on the TA Settings, macOS overrides them and always prints from tray 1. Does anyone have solutions for this issue?

You might want to edit the `printers.conf` file directly in `/private/etc/cups`. Just update the necessary settings there and then restart the printer service. You can do this by using the terminal command: `sudo launchctl kickstart -k system/org.cups.cupsd`. This should help solidify the changes you need. If you’re unsure of which settings to modify, you could always copy them from a similar printer that’s working fine.
Do you really think changing it directly in `printers.conf` will help? Isn’t it supposed to update that file when you make changes through the CUPS interface?
