I'm trying to help a friend's dad who is encountering a strange issue on his computer. There's a logo showing up in the bottom right corner of both his Chrome and Edge browsers. When he clicks on it, it brings up some GPS search feature like it wants to give directions. He hasn't intentionally installed anything on his computer or browsers to cause this. The logo in question is a white circle with two blue arched lines on the top and bottom, and a blue and purple infinity symbol in the middle. I tried searching for it online but couldn't find any relevant information. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m almost certain that’s a logo from a less common VPN service. It’s not one I'd recognize off the top of my head. It’s concerning that it's showing up in both browsers, so definitely look into any recent software installations.
A picture would definitely help. Sometimes, visual clues can make it easier to identify what's going on. If you can, try to share that image again; it's frustrating that it didn't work the first time.
It sounds like it could be related to a VPN or similar software. Since it's showing up on both browsers, it might have been bundled with something he accidentally installed. You might want to check the extensions in both browsers to see if there's anything unusual there.
Good idea! To check available extensions, click on the extensions icon (the puzzle piece) in the top right corner of the browser and see if anything looks suspicious.

I had the same problem trying to upload an image before. It might be a restriction in the platform you’re using.
