I've just built my PC using a 7800X3D CPU, and I've noticed that while gaming, the temperature usually stays between 70°C and 75°C. However, I've observed occasional spikes where the temperature jumps up to around 88°C. Is this something to be concerned about? I'm using a Thermalright Phantom Spirit cooler, and the ambient temperature in my city is about 28°C.

It's pretty common for 7800X3D CPUs to hit those temps, especially under load. A lot of users are recommending undervolting to help keep temperatures in check. If you can, try using a curve optimizer to adjust settings—something around -30 to -25 can help. Even with air cooling, it's expected for these chips to have some spikes, but with undervolting, you might see a drop in those peak temperatures.

I tweaked my curve optimizer to -20 too, and it didn't significantly change my temps. Maybe I should look into those C states.
