Is the Ryzen 5800X worth the upgrade from the 5600X for gaming?

Hey everyone! I've inherited my brother's old components, which include a B550 motherboard, 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM, a CPU cooler, a case, and an SSD. I just bought an RTX 5070 at MSRP, and I'm planning to game at 1440p. Now, I'm curious about the CPUs: the Ryzen 5600X is around £112, while the 5800X costs about £165. Do you think the performance boost of the 5800X is worth the extra £50, or should I stick with the 5600X and wait for prices to drop for a future DDR5 upgrade? I mainly play games like BO7, Warzone, Arc Raiders, FC26, and some single-player titles like God of War and Spider-Man.

If you’re looking for value, the 5600X is solid as there’s really not that much of a difference in performance for gaming between the two.

Some say the 5800X is less than a 5% improvement, so honestly, you might be fine sticking with the 5600X. The extra cores don’t really make a noticeable difference for gaming, especially not in the titles you're playing.

Honestly, the 5800X could give you about 20% better performance compared to the 5600X, especially in games. For instance, in CS2 on low settings at 1080p, I saw around 350-400 FPS with the 5800X, while the 5600X was closer to 260-340 FPS. If you're going for a better gaming experience, considering an X3D variant like the 5700X3D might be the best bet. Totally worth it!

It's pretty disappointing that the 5700X3D isn’t readily available to buy right now.

I think they’re comparing at 1440p while you’re showing 1080p performance.
