Why Is 12GB of My RAM Reserved for Hardware and How Can I Fix It?

I recently factory reset my PC after upgrading to Windows 11 Pro, and now I can only use 4GB of my RAM because 12GB is showing as 'hardware reserved.' I don't think there's anything wrong with my RAM sticks or motherboard slot, and I've tried resetting the CMOS. I'm looking for help on how to resolve this issue!

It sounds like your system might be allocating RAM for a dedicated GPU. Do you have a dedicated graphics card, or is it just an Intel CPU without integrated graphics?

I have a 10400F, so there's no integrated graphics.

You should check your BIOS settings. Look for an option that allows you to resize the shared GPU memory. It could be set too high, which would explain why so much RAM is reserved.

That's the issue; I can’t find that option in my BIOS!

Have you tried performing a system restore? Another step is to type 'msconfig' in the search bar, go to the boot tab, and uncheck the maximum memory option. That could help.

I've tried both of those methods already!
