My Dell XPS 8300 Won’t Boot – Need Help!

Hey everyone! I'm having trouble with my Dell XPS 8300. It started acting up and was running slow for about 10 minutes, then it wouldn't turn back on. When I power it up, it only stays on for a split second before shutting off. After some troubleshooting, I figured it might be the power supply, so I ordered a new one and installed it, which did help with the power issue. Now, it does turn on, but I'm only getting a blank screen. I can access the BIOS, and I ran Dell's diagnostics, but it didn't find any issues with the components. The system recognizes that two hard drives are connected, and I've checked all the cables to ensure they're properly attached. I have some experience with building PCs, but this situation is a bit beyond me. I'd really appreciate any suggestions on what to try next!

Honestly, that PC is quite outdated. Spending money on parts for it might not be worth it in the long run. The power supply you installed could cost more than the value of the whole system at this point. Have you thought about looking for a new system instead?

I totally get that it's an old machine, but if your dad's attached to it, maybe consider just fixing it for now. I’ve had my 8300 for years, and while it's not the best, it's served me well until I could save for a new one. If you're not in a hurry to spend big bucks, maybe just stick with diagnosing the current setup for a bit.
