I have an Asus ROG Strix X870-A motherboard that features a large heatsink. My concern is whether the thermal paste stickers will melt due to heat, especially since I don't have SSDs installed in those slots. Is this something I need to worry about? Thanks for any insights!

Honestly, those stickers are likely not going to be an issue at all. They help with cooling the M.2 drives, but if you don't have one installed, they won't be doing much. They need to reach over 100°C to melt, which is pretty unlikely. But it's good to be cautious! Just keep an eye on the temps, especially if you felt heat on the test bench.
It's actually best to leave those stickers in place. They're there to protect the thermal pads, especially if you plan to install SSDs later. There's no need to remove them just because you don't have SSDs installed at the moment.
