I'm looking to upgrade my GPU and I've got a dilemma between the 5070 and the 9070XT. I can easily find the 5070 at around $550 MSRP, but the 9070XT is more elusive, usually starting at about $700. From my research, the 9070XT outperforms the 5070 by about 20%, which raises the question: is that extra performance worth the 27% price difference? Also, I've seen a lot of criticism about the 5070—should I be concerned, or is it still a solid choice in today's market?

Considering all the issues AMD has had lately, I’d lean towards the 5070 for peace of mind. I wouldn’t want to deal with unexpected updates that could mess with my gameplay. Nvidia might be a lesser option, but they tend to fix problems faster. So, I'd prioritize the 5070 for reliability and features.
Given the current prices, I'd argue the 5070 provides better value. That said, the 9070XT isn't a bad option if you're set on higher performance. Overall, just make sure it fits into what you're aiming for!
