I spilled some Monster Energy drink on my laptop, but I quickly turned it off. I panicked and took a minute to find tissues, and during that time, I tried to clean it without switching it off. When it was on, I pressed some keys, but then I unplugged everything. I can't access the battery right now since I'm at work without the proper tools. The spill was only on the bottom left corner, but I'm worried about the damage. Is there anything I can do, or is my laptop toast?

First things first, keep it completely off and unplugged. Don't try to power it on or press more keys. The best thing you can do is set it keyboard-down or in a tent position to let it drain. Since Monster is sugary, it can leave residue that could cause shorts later on, so you should definitely think about taking it to a repair shop for a thorough cleaning as soon as you can. It's a good sign you turned it off quickly, but just don't risk it by testing it too soon!

I tried to tilt it too, but nothing came out. I'm making sure not to turn it on until I know it's either completely damaged or can be saved. We're planning to open it up tomorrow with a friend to see if we can assess the damage before heading to the repair shop.
