I accidentally bent some pins on the socket of my AM5 motherboard. I'm trying to bend them back and considering installing my CPU. If everything looks okay but something goes wrong, what could I potentially lose? Am I just risking the CPU and motherboard, or could it also damage my RAM, graphics card, SSD, or other components?

If you're not careful, you might end up with some serious hardware damage! The worst-case scenario is that some of those bent pins touch each other, causing a short circuit and potentially frying your CPU.
Honestly, there are too many variables to give a solid answer. It really depends on your setup and which pins are bent. Typically, the CPU and RAM are at the greatest risk since they connect directly with each other. If there's a short, it could damage those parts. But there's a good chance nothing will happen too, as the low voltages usually won't affect much. Just to be safe, I would remove any components you can't afford to lose.
I'd say the risk is there, but not playing with fire. Just be aware that while things could go south, there’s a chance it’ll work fine. It’s a gamble, so weigh the odds and be prepared for the worst. If you just have a backup CPU or motherboard lying around, use those for practice!
