Is a 1440p 144Hz Monitor a Good Fit for the RTX 5070?

I'm building a new PC with an RTX 5070 graphics card, and I'm considering a 1440p (2K) 144Hz monitor. I want to know if this monitor will work well with the RTX 5070, and if there's any chance it could limit the performance of the GPU. Should I think about getting a higher-end monitor or downgrade the GPU for better balance? I'm looking to make sure this setup lasts me for a long time, so any advice would help!

I think a 1440p 144Hz monitor is perfect for the RTX 5070! It will definitely enhance your gaming. Plus, if you can snag a Dell G2725D for around $150, it’s a great value. Just watch for those sales because at 4K, your FPS will suffer for sure!

Thanks! I’ll keep an eye on the sales for that monitor.

Yes, the RTX 5070 can handle 1440p really well at 144Hz. If you want to future-proof your build, upgrading to a 5070 Ti could be a good move, but the standard 5070 will do just fine for gaming at that resolution.

A 1440p monitor is a solid choice; it’s exactly what the RTX 5070 is designed for. If you’re into fast-paced games, consider aiming for a higher refresh rate like 165-240Hz if your budget allows for it, but 144Hz is great for a smoother experience!
