Hey everyone, I accidentally spilled water on my PC by knocking over a cup. I quickly used a paper towel to soak it up, but I've heard that wasn't the best move. How long should I let it dry out before attempting to use it again? I want to be cautious but also eager to get back to using it. Any advice?

The drying time really depends on where the water ended up. If you spilled it while your PC was on, it’s crucial to unplug it immediately and mop up any excess water. I’d suggest finding something else to keep you busy for a couple of days while it dries. From my experience, I've seen some gadgets come back to life after a thorough dry-out, so you might get lucky!
If you've got a hair dryer, you can try using it on a low setting to help dry it out faster. Just be gentle with it.
Make sure to turn it off if it was still on when the spill happened. After you towel it off, leave it unplugged and let it sit for a few days. Just be patient!
It's best to wait at least 24 hours for everything inside to dry out properly. And try to keep it in a warm, dry spot to speed things up a bit.
You mentioned you turned it off right after the spill— that’s good. But just so you know, if it was on and got water inside, it could really be damaged. Hopefully, everything’s fine!
