Why does my laptop go into sleep mode when I move it?

I've been experiencing an issue with my laptop where it goes into sleep mode whenever I move it even just a little. It used to happen when I was using certain USB ports, but now it seems to be more associated with the laptop itself. Recently, my AC power cord got bent when I accidentally dropped my laptop from the sofa, which makes me wonder if that could be causing the problem. The laptop works perfectly fine on a flat surface, but when I try to use it on my lap or even just while typing, it keeps locking or shutting off. Any ideas on what might be going on?

It sounds like you might have a loose connection due to that drop and the bent cord. When you move it, if something's not connected right—like the charging port, battery cable, or even the lid sensor—it could trigger the sleep mode. I suggest testing it out on just the battery and then again when it's plugged in. But definitely consider getting it checked out before the problem gets worse.

Have you tried running it on battery power alone? If the issue persists while it's unplugged, that suggests it's not just the charger causing the problem. If it works fine on battery, then you might need to look elsewhere for the issue.
