I recently got a new MSI Katana 15 HX B14WEK notebook and decided to install Linux Mint alongside Windows. I've used Mint before without issues, but this time I had to start the installer using the nomodeset option. Even after installing the necessary drivers, the system fails to boot. No matter how I try to boot—whether through the graphical interface or command line, with or without nomodeset—I keep ending up in BusyBox, which doesn't recognize any Linux commands. What could be causing this problem?

It sounds like your laptop might have hardware that's too new for Linux Mint, which can be a bit tricky with the latest tech. Can you share how recent your graphics card is? If it's a Geforce RTX 5050, that's definitely newer than the latest Mint version. You might need to wait for an update or consider trying another distro.

You're right, my card is newer than Mint. I guess I should look into other distros then. Thanks!
