Issues with DYMO LabelWriter Print Queues on Windows Server After Updates

Hey folks, I'm wondering if anyone has run into problems with DYMO print queues on Windows Server 2019 or 2022 since the February 2026 Windows Updates were rolled out. It seems like any printer using the unidrv.dll or unidrvui.dll files might be affected, but DYMO printers are the only ones I've examined closely. I've been facing various issues that seem to trace back to updates in these DLL files. For example, I've seen event log errors about the print spooler failing to load a plugin module and other glitches like 'Entry Point Not Found' when trying to print. I've temporarily reverted to older versions of these DLLs, which has resolved most issues except for one case on a Windows Server 2019 machine. Even after rolling back a specific update and trying different DLL versions, the print jobs still error out. Restarting the print spooler service will occasionally let some jobs through, but then it goes back to failing. I'm currently testing a backup from before these issues began. Also, I found a related problem with redirected DYMO printers in an RDS setup, which seemed to stem from a registry setting that can be altered to fix the issue. I'd appreciate any insights or similar experiences!

I appreciate you sharing this! It’s been a real headache for me on one server for months. I've found that replacing unidrvui.dll with an older version (10.0.17763.1) gets things working again. Also, I noticed that printer redirection breaks unless I swap out PS5UI.DLL in the drivers folder. This all started happening after upgrading one of the systems with a DYMO 550 to Windows 11. It’s become a weekly issue, and I’ve had to redirect to an older DYMO 440 that doesn’t have the same problems. Fingers crossed for a fix soon!

Yeah, I totally get what you're dealing with! I've been talking to Microsoft about this too, and it’s definitely related to the DLL files. Hoping they release a fix soon!

Thanks for the quick response! If you have any additional information or updates, I'd love to hear it.

Just to clarify, is this only a problem in RDS environments? I have some DYMO printers set up locally on PCs, and I'm hesitant to push this update without knowing more.

So far, I've only seen these issues on RDS servers running Windows Server 2019 and 2022.
