I'm looking for cost-effective ways to connect my iPhone to a TV without relying on the internet or using an HDMI adapter. I recently picked up a used adapter for $9, but now it turns out I need to connect to a computer monitor instead of a TV. Any alternative solutions?

You can definitely use AirPlay without the internet. Just set up a WiFi connection; you don’t need an active internet connection for it to work! If you have access to a cheap router, that could be your answer. If your TV doesn’t support AirPlay directly, consider getting a Roku stick—it should handle the streaming without needing internet.
Have you thought about using Chromecast? It might be an easy way to cast your phone's screen without the need for an HDMI adapter. Just a thought!
What about using a Fire TV? Would I be able to connect it without internet?
