Should I Buy a GPU Now or Wait Until 2027?

I'm considering whether it's safer to buy a new GPU right now or take a risk by waiting until 2027, especially given the current price increases in the EU. I have a Ryzen 5 7500F, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and I'm currently using an RTX 3060 Ti with 8GB of VRAM. I'm gaming at 1440p, but I'm starting to feel the limits of my GPU with titles released in 2026. The market seems unstable; second-hand 40-series cards are hard to find, and there's speculation that NVIDIA might cut production by 40% to focus on AI components. I'm worried prices might keep rising, making my current GPU feel outdated and losing its resale value. For those in Europe, are you purchasing GPUs now to secure a better price, or do you think it's worth waiting to see what happens by 2027?

I decided to buy my upgrade back in December, and honestly, I don't regret it. Prices are unpredictable, and they could just keep climbing from here. Better to have my new GPU secured than to gamble with prices skyrocketing further!

I did something similar! Picked up a 5080 Miku for $2k right before they jumped to $2500. It’s a smart move to get in now before things get worse.

I think it's better to buy now. With all the ongoing issues like AI production cutting into supply, it’s tough to predict if the situation will improve anytime soon. Prices might just keep getting worse!

Exactly my thoughts! Anyone hoping for a drop in prices any time soon is probably going to be disappointed. Just enjoy your new GPU!

Best advice? Check your budget. If you can swing a 5070 or a 9070 right now without stressing your finances, it’s a solid investment. If you’re feeling limited by your current setup, upgrading will definitely help your gaming experience right now.

I’ve seen decent deals on RX 9070 and 9070 XT cards in the US, but I can’t speak for Europe. If the pricing continues as it has been, it might be worth snagging a new card now rather than waiting too long and facing higher costs.

Honestly, if you need an upgrade, go for it! There’s no guarantee prices will ever drop, and if you wait, you might be stuck with a card that feels dated. Actually enjoying your upgrade for longer can outweigh the risk of potentially better options later.
