I have some fans with RGB features and they come with separate RGB connectors in addition to the fan connectors. I'm not planning to use the RGB lighting and these extra cables are causing issues with cable management in my setup. I'm thinking about cutting off the RGB connectors when my PC is turned off. Is that a good idea, or will it cause problems?

It might be better to just zip-tie the RGB connectors together instead of cutting them. Once you snip the wires, you could lower the resale value if you ever decide to sell the fans later.
You technically can cut the RGB wires, but just keep in mind that doing so might void any warranty on the fans.
I’m not concerned about the warranty, so it wouldn’t be a big deal for me.
If you don’t need the RGB, just turn them off in your software or set them to a static color like white. That way, they won’t be problematic in your build.

Exactly! Why lose a feature permanently when a few zip ties can keep those connectors organized?
