Need Advice on Upgrading My AM4 CPU for Gaming

I'm pretty new to building and upgrading PCs. With some help from friends, I assembled my setup using older parts, except for the GPU, which I bought before the prices shot up due to crypto issues. Now, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU but I'm a bit lost on the best direction to go in. I mainly use my PC for 1080p gaming and occasionally for 2K gaming when it performs well. I'd appreciate any insight and suggestions for CPUs. I also have some DDR5 RAM (2x16GB G.Skill Flare x5) that I was thinking about selling to fund the CPU upgrade.

Here are my current specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3rd Gen, 6-Core, 3.6 GHz, 4.2 GHz Max Boost, Socket AM4)
- Motherboard: BIOSTAR B550GTA AM4 RACING
- RAM: Crucial Ballistix 3000 MHz DDR4 (4x8GB)
- GPU: ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 ROG Strix
- OS: Windows 11

I was in a similar situation with my setup using a B450 motherboard and a Ryzen 5 3500X before I upgraded to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. The upgrade gave me a nice FPS boost from 85-90 FPS to around 120 FPS in COD Warzone. I would definitely recommend either the 5700X3D or the 5800X3D if you can find one; both are great for gaming. If those aren't available, the Ryzen 9 5900X is another solid option. Try looking on places like Facebook Marketplace for a 3D version to potentially boost your FPS by 10-15%!

Last month, someone recommended the Ryzen 5 5600X to me. I picked up the tray version from Newegg since I already had a cooler. It's been performing pretty well!

How's it working for you so far? I'm stuck at 60-70 FPS on BF6 with medium settings, and my current CPU is maxed out!
