Recommendations for a DVD Player and TV Setup?

Hey everyone! I just got a box of DVDs from my grandma that I used to watch as a kid, but I don't have a DVD player or a console to play them on. I'm looking for a decent DVD player that won't break the bank and will last me a while. Most of the DVDs I have are older titles and not Blu-ray, so I want something reliable for regular digital DVDs. Thanks for any suggestions!

When I worked at Best Buy, I heard the guys in the theatre department warn against Vizio products. If you're looking for budget-friendly options, consider checking out local pawn shops. You can often snag both a DVD player and a TV for around $80. Keep in mind, a used Blu-ray player can also play regular DVDs!

A decent DVD player usually costs around $50. For TVs, what's your preferred size? I saw a 32" 1080p HD TV for just $90 at Best Buy. So for under $150 you could have a solid setup!

I was thinking of a 32" TV! Any specific brands I should keep an eye out for?

I recently got a DVD player for about £20. I also use a Blu-ray drive on my PC to rip CDs and DVDs into my media library. Internal Blu-ray drives are pretty cheap now, and external USB options are even more affordable. Plus, you can connect your PC to a large screen for a nice setup!

Garage sales or thrift stores like Goodwill can be goldmines! You might find DVD players for about $10 each. It’s a super affordable way to get what you need without spending much.
