I'm thinking about upgrading my system to Intel and I'm curious about whether I should stick with the 12900KF for safety, or if I can confidently jump to the 14700KF. Is CPU degradation still an issue with these generations, or has it been resolved?

I own a 13700K and a 14600K, and I haven't noticed any degradation at all after updating the BIOS. They both run great, but I have them undervolted, which helps too.
I ran my 14600KF for a bit before the updates came out and it had some minor issues. But I've been using it without any significant troubles now as long as I keep the BIOS updated.
If you're considering a secondhand CPU, I'd be cautious. There's a chance it may have been used in a system without the necessary updates, which could lead to issues.
I had some trouble with my 14700K, but the RMA process was super smooth, and I ended up getting a solid 14900K. Just make sure everything's updated and it should be good!
Most of the degradation issues have been ironed out with BIOS updates, so as long as you keep your BIOS up to date, you should be fine.

Yeah, I had a similar experience. Once I got the latest BIOS, it seemed stable again.
